Director of Communications & PR | IABC

Responsible for managing Magellan of Arizona?s external communications and public affairs including member communications and events; local, trade and national proactive and reactive media relations; internal and external issues management; strategy and message development; and crisis communications. This position is also responsible for working with other local internal Magellan departments to comply with the member communication, engagement and information elements required by the state contract.

?Minimum Requirements:? Bachelor?s degree in Public Relations, English, Journalism or Communications.? 5 to 8 years experience in public relations, communications, community relations or advertising preferably in the healthcare or human services industry.? Proven experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans.? Experience establishing and maintaining successful relationships with print, broadcast and Web media.? Experience working with external vendors including PR/advertising counsel, graphic designers, etc.? Demands someone who has strong strategic thinking, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as superior writing, editing, proofreading skills.? Incumbent should also possess project, resource and staff management skills, in addition to strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, mature judgment and discretion.
