The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado in eastern Jefferson County.
The NWS confirmed an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds of 95 mph touched down near the intersection of Interstate 264 and Brownsboro Road. The tornado tracked northeast to near the intersection of Hurstbourne Parkway and Brownsboro Road where it briefly lifted. The tornado reformed and crossed Interstate 265.

According to the NWS, the path of the tornado was 4.2 miles long and 250 yards wide.
The survey of the area is continuing at this time and more information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
